Two weeks after the release of Forsaken Shores, Sea of Thieves has added a new type of travel – Cargo Runs. The task is simple – you need to pick up cargo from one character and take it to another. Now I will tell you what’s up with these trips, and also tell you how to quickly find the characters on the islands and outposts.
You can get quests from any Trade Union representative, they are sold along with the usual orders at the outposts. You can also get orders from notes in barrels and bottles. The order consists of a random set of three items: luxury cloths, plants, and bottles of rum. For the successful delivery of each item, the recipient pays 350 coins each. The reward for merchandise from Devil’s Throat is twice as much.
Each of the three items has different characteristics and storage conditions. If you are carrying cloths, then they must not be wet, plants – on the contrary, it is necessary to water them, and bottles of rum are very fragile. When transporting, it is better to keep tissues up so they don’t get wet. Plants we put on the lower deck and pour water there. When transporting bottles, you can’t get hit by cannons, crash into islands, or even jump with them in your hands.
Each item has three states of preservation. For example, bottles can be intact, cracked, and broken. If they are completely broken, the reward for them will only be 50 coins (100 for the devil’s). You must deliver items undamaged in order to meet challenge conditions and receive ranks and Achievement Points.
How do I find characters in outposts? The game has a pattern with the names of the characters at the outposts. Their names begin with the same letter as the name of their store or faction (in English):
C, K (C for clothes) – a clothing store, for example: Cecil, Colin.
T (T – Tavern) – tavern, female names e.g. Tina, Tonya, Tallulah.
T (T – Tools) – Tools, male characters: Tim, Tom, Ted.
B (W – Weapons) – armory: Wanda, Wonda, Wednesday.
Sh, S – Shipwrights: Sharon, Shelley, Stevie.
M (M – Merchant) – Trade Union: Martha, Mildred.
The Order of Souls and the Goldsmiths are also subject to this rule, but they don’t give out or receive goods unlike the others.
How do I find characters on the islands? Most of the islands have piers that ships must dock at. It is on these that you should look for them in the first place. If the island does not have a pier, you should run around it on the beach. All the characters we need are near the shore, so there is no point in looking for them in the depths of the island.
